At a young age, Miranda developed a passion for youth engagement and activism and began working for public health programs in the Niagara and Ottawa regions. In 2010, she was chosen as a spokesperson for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and in 2015, she co-founded an anti-tobacco industry campaign that was instrumental in closing loopholes in government legislation. Throughout her time as a youth activist, Miranda delivered training to hundreds of people across Canada in health promotion, media advocacy and public policy. She firmly believes that youth are the leaders of today, not tomorrow.
